CONQUEST BIG E (c, 2, Tapit–Seeinsbelieven, by Carson City) missed the break and asserted himself late to finish second on debut going one mile at Churchill Sept. 11 and was hammered down to even-money favoritism to graduate in this first try around two turns. Racing in fifth over the sloppy main track, the gray raced four wide around the opening bend and took closer order down the backstretch as longshot My Chennai Xpress (Hold Me Back) led through a half-mile in :47.98. Confidently handled in the three path on the final bend, the colt moved in tandem with Deep in a Dream (Quiet American), battled it out with that rival until midstretch and pulled away to score by 2 1/4 lengths. Purchased for $700,000 as a KEESEP yearling, Conquest Big E is out of a dam who is a half to GSWs Softly (Binalong) and Coragil Cat (Forest Wildcat). The winner is a half to Aquapazza (Stormy Atlantic), SW, $131,571. Lifetime Record: 2-1-1-0, $41,240. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
